INDIGO APPAREL

we solemnly swear...

Since Indigo Apparel began back in 2012, we have maintained the same "code of ethics". Whether it be in sustainable design, day-to-day operation, or production, these key features are the backbone of our brand. Each piece we produce upholds at least three (usually more) of our standards.

Check the hangtag and/or detailed product description for more information on each specific item's features.

second life

One of the best ways to keep the Earth happy is to keep your junk out of the landfill. By choosing Deadstock or Recycled materials, we re-use discarded textiles instead of sourcing new, and choose fabrics made from post-consumer plastic bottles.

bamboo

Bamboo fiber is incredibly soft – its got a silky feel and is very durable. The fiber is naturally thermoregulatory – it cools or warms you to regulate your body temperature and keep you comfortable. Naturally antimicrobial, bamboo is great for yoga, working out, hot weather and sensitive skin.

Features_LowImpact.jpg

low impact

Low impact dyes are classified by the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 as eco-friendly. They do not contain toxic chemicals or mordants. High absorption rates and a decreased use of rinse water create less waste water – and waste water can be recycled!

Features_Organic.jpg

organic

Organic materials are made from plants that have been planted using non-genetically modified seeds, and grown without pesticides or harmful chemicals. We often think of organic food, but it is easy to forget that our clothing sits directly on our skin and therefore can absorb toxins. Choosing organic is healthier for the farmers processing the plants, your own body, and the earth (specifically the water and soil). Whenever we can, INDIGO uses Global Textile Standard (GOTS) certified textiles.

made in the USA

In 2012, 97.5 percent of the apparel sold in the United States was produced internationally. A reduction in domestic manufacturing has directly resulted in job loss & weakened economy. We support locally made goods & the people who take pride in making them.
